Nicki Minaj Racks Up At the Billboard Awards

Nicki Minaj was among the big winners at this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The Young Money starlet took home three of the four awards in the rap categories: Top Rap Album, Top Rap Artist and Top Streaming Artist awards.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz won Top Rap Song for “Thrift Shop.” “First of all, we gotta thank Goodwill,” the Seattle rapper said during his acceptance speech. “We gotta thank Value City.”

Rihanna won all four R&B awards: Top R&B Artist; Top R&B Album, Top R&B Song, for “Diamonds”; and Top Radio Songs Artist.

Among the performances were Chris Brown’s somewhat hoarse take on his “Fine China” single and Miguel, who crash-landed into a female fan during an attempted stage leap as he sang his smash “Adorn.”

Nicki Minaj gave Lil Wayne a barely PG-13 rated lap dance as they performed their hit “High School.”
