More Controversy With Fury MMA Not Paying Fighters

Thursday evening about 11pm, the night before  the Fury weigh-ins, left Przemyslaw ‘Misiek’ Mysiala devastated when he received a call from his management to tell him that his third opponent had pulled out.  Having spoken to Misiek he was very angry and upset and found the whole saga very unprofessional.  It is hard for a fighter who spends 10-12 weeks preparing for a fight, sometimes even for a specific opponent, only to have the opponent changed on more than one occasion before finally not having anyone to fight at all.  All the effort and hard work turns out to mean nothing in the mind of the fighter.

On fight night itself, Magic Sasanowskie was all prepared for his battle, only to have his opponent pull out just two fights before they were due to go head to head. Magic’s manager was concerned  and raised the issue as early as the Friday, advising the promotion to keep an eye on the situation to ensure the opponent turned up and all went to plan but sadly although the concerns were taken on board, nothing was actually done which left Magic unable to fight due to a no show.

The whole saga extended to the world famous London shoot fighters gym too, who had a number of fighters scheduled to fight on the Fury MMA card but due to more pull outs only days before the show, all of the London shoot fighter athletes were denied a chance to fight as well.

Both Magic and Misiek made weight, sold lots of tickets and did everything asked and expected of them.  Not only were they left bitterly disappointed but on top of that, both were not paid a penny for their efforts, none of their purse was paid, none of their expenses or travel were paid, although it had been agreed on the night that due to making weight and promoting their fights,  50% of the purse would be paid the next day.  This sadly never happened.

Their Management have been assured that due to the nature of the high profile athlete involved and having spoken to the Promotion (Fury MMA) at great length, including its management team and director Stephen Doran and Dan Movahedi, that this matter will be tackled at the highest level for the first time ever.  An attempt to make the offending athletes accountable for their actions in a financial way and make them fulfil their obligations as stated in their contracts will be sought.
