Alex “Da Kid” Lohore is living up to the hype, perfect timing and an accurate right hand was
all he needed to earn the TKO victory inside the SSE arena at Bellator 179.
Two and a half years into his professional career and Alex Lohore is already making waves on some
of MMA’s biggest shows. He is now 12-1 and riding an impressive 8-fight win streak, including
another highlight-reel finish at Bellator 179. This young fighter’s popularity has risen with each fight,
he has supplied fans with a selection of stunning finishes and has left us all on the edge of our seat
wanting more.
Lohore explained how hard work and training were key to his second successive finish at Bellator, he
said: “I’m really pleased with the finish because it’s a drill we were drilling over and over again. It’s
something I struggled with in the past, finding my range. It feels good to see that the training does
pay-off”.
As the bout began, Lohore landed a flush combination and secured an easy takedown. Immediately,
he was tested as bjj brown belt Dan Vinni looked determined to set-up a number of leg locks on Lohore. However, a
patient ground game from the “Da Kid” meant he was able to nullify the aggressive grappling of his
opponent.
Lohore illustrated a dominant top game, dealing damage from every angle as he looked to grind down
his opponent. He displayed foolproof top control on the ground, as he maintained perfect distance
to deal short, sharp shots to Vinni. All the while, he displayed great tenacity with his grappling, as he
defended smoothly against an opponent who was clearly very dangerous off his back.
Into the second round, and it was clear Lohore was out for the finish. As a flush right hand connected
to the jaw of Dan Vinni, which clearly had him hurt. However, without a second to recover, another
right hand from Lohre dropped Vinni to the canvas. The referee didn’t need much convincing as,
after a couple of precise ground and pound strikes, Lohore was awarded the TKO victory.
After another impressive win, Lohore was asked about his ambitions for the remainder of the year, he
said: “the plans for 2017 are to get the world title for BAMMA, and then see what’s next.
Maybe defending the title, or maybe move on to signing for one of the big promotions, like Bellator or
the UFC. But I’m definitely doing another two fights before the end of the year”.
Alex Lohore also revealed news of his title fight scheduled for September, he said” “Today my
management (Mogul Management) told me I have a world title fight coming up in September, it’s against some chump
who struggled to win his fight on the same Bellator card as me but on the undercard, and now he wants
a shot at the title. No disrespect to my gay fans out there, but the easiest way to describe this guy is
he’s very gay looking, not his clothes but his features, he may be gay, which is fine, either way he will be the one getting tagged and bagged come fight night”.
Everybody clear your calendars for September, Alex Lohore is a fighter you do not want to miss.
